Last updated: September 10, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how Corporate Lingua Academy collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you visit our website, contact us, purchase a program or book, participate in training, or use a related service.

Who is responsible for your information

Corporate Lingua Academy is responsible for personal information it collects directly for enrollment, instruction, customer service, and business operations. This online store is hosted by Shopify, and other providers may separately process information under their own privacy terms. In this Policy, “you” may mean the purchaser, learner, parent or guardian, visitor, employee participant, or organization contact, as applicable.

Information we collect

• Contact and account information: name, email, telephone number if provided, billing address, shipping address, login or customer-account information, and communication preferences.
• Order and transaction information: products, program, plan, price, payment status, discounts, refunds, order history, and related messages. Full payment-card details are generally handled by Shopify and payment providers rather than stored directly by the Academy.
• Enrollment and learning information: learner age or age range, guardian relationship where applicable, English level, goals, time zone, availability, attendance, learning priorities, instructor notes, progress observations, and materials voluntarily shared for instruction.
• Live-session information: a learner’s name, voice, video, screen display, chat, and participation may be transmitted through the selected meeting platform. Sessions are not recorded by the Academy as a routine practice. Any Academy recording requires advance notice and the written permissions we determine are required.
• Corporate information: organization, job role, team size, training needs, authorized participants, proposal details, and business contact information.
• Book order information: selected titles, shipping details, tracking, delivery status, and return or damage evidence such as photographs.
• Technical and usage information: IP address, browser, device, cookie or pixel identifiers, pages viewed, referring pages, interactions, approximate location inferred from an IP address, and security logs.
• Communications: emails, forms, support requests, scheduling messages, surveys, and feedback you choose to provide.

Where information comes from

We receive information directly from you, a parent or guardian, an employer or organization arranging training, and automatically from your browser or device. We may also receive transaction, fraud-prevention, fulfillment, delivery, or platform information from Shopify, payment providers, BooksCloud or other fulfillment partners, carriers, video-meeting services, and connected vendors.

How and why we use information

We use personal information to operate and secure the website; respond to inquiries; verify purchaser or guardian authority; process payments and orders; schedule and deliver instruction; personalize lessons; maintain attendance and service records; fulfill and track book orders; handle returns; provide support; prevent fraud and misuse; send transactional messages; improve our programs and website; maintain tax and business records; comply with law; establish or defend legal claims; and protect learners, customers, the Academy, and others.

Where privacy law requires a legal basis, our processing may rely on performance of a contract, steps requested before entering a contract, consent, compliance with a legal obligation, protection of vital interests, or our legitimate interests in operating and securing the business, provided those interests are not overridden by applicable rights. You may withdraw consent for future consent-based processing, but withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing.

Teen learners ages 13–17

The Teen English program is available only to learners ages 13–17. A parent or legal guardian must purchase and manage services for every learner under 18, approve participation, and remain the primary contact for account, payment, scheduling, privacy, and safety matters. A minor should not create a customer account or place an order independently.

Information associated with a teen learner may include a first name, age, voice or video during a live lesson, English level, learning goals, attendance, responses, instructor observations, and work voluntarily shared for feedback. We ask families to provide only information reasonably needed for instruction and safety. The Academy does not routinely record private lessons.

A parent or legal guardian may ask to review, correct, or delete a minor learner’s information or object to further optional processing. If particular information is necessary to deliver instruction, deleting it or withdrawing permission may require the service to end.

Children under 13

Corporate Lingua Academy does not offer live English instruction to children under 13, and our enrollment services are intended to be used by adults purchasing for themselves or for an eligible minor. A child under 13 should not create an account, place an order, submit a form, email the Academy, or participate in a lesson. If we learn that personal information was submitted directly by a child under 13, we will review the circumstances and delete it as reasonably appropriate, subject to safety and legal requirements. A parent or guardian who believes this has occurred should contact us promptly.

How we disclose information

We may disclose information only as reasonably needed to:

• Shopify, payment providers, fraud-prevention services, website hosting, email, scheduling, video conferencing, analytics, and customer-support vendors;
• BooksCloud or another approved fulfillment partner and shipping carriers for physical-book orders;
• professional advisers such as accountants, insurers, and legal advisers;
• a buyer, successor, or adviser in a proposed or completed business transaction;
• government, regulators, courts, or other parties when required by valid legal process or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security; or
• another party at your direction or with your consent.

We do not publish learner names, work, images, recordings, or testimonials without permissions we determine are appropriate.

Cookies, analytics, advertising, and privacy choices

Our website and providers may use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies for essential operation, preferences, security, analytics, and marketing where enabled. Browser controls can limit cookies, although some website or checkout features may not work correctly.

We do not sell personal information for cash. Some disclosures through advertising or analytics technologies may be treated as a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising under certain U.S. state privacy laws. Where applicable, you can submit an opt-out through our Your Privacy Choices page. Shopify may also recognize a supported Global Privacy Control signal for the browser and device as described on that page.

Email and communication choices

Order confirmations, scheduling notices, lesson access, safety messages, and policy communications are transactional or operational. Marketing emails may be stopped through the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop messages needed to complete an order or deliver an active service.

Confidential learning and business material

Learners and organizations should anonymize examples before sharing them. Do not submit passwords, full payment-card numbers, government identifiers, medical records, regulated client data, trade secrets, or unredacted confidential company documents. If a workplace example is used, replace names, account details, and sensitive figures wherever possible.

Retention

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including active service delivery, fulfillment, customer support, required financial and tax records, safety, dispute handling, and legal compliance. Retention varies by information type. When information is no longer needed, we may delete, de-identify, or securely dispose of it, subject to technical backup cycles and legal obligations. Information about a minor learner is not kept longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information and our operations. No website, email, video platform, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for protecting account credentials and using a private environment for sensitive conversations.

International processing

Online services may be available to learners in multiple countries, and we or our providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Privacy protections and government-access rules may differ from those where you live. Where applicable law requires a transfer safeguard, the responsible provider or Academy will use an appropriate mechanism.

Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, or an appeal of a request decision. You may also have the right to opt out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising. Some information may be retained or a request may be limited when needed for security, transactions, legal compliance, or another lawful exception.

To protect you, we may ask for information reasonably needed to verify identity, account ownership, guardian status, or authority to act for another person. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

Third-party links and services

External websites, meeting platforms, payment services, and other providers have their own privacy practices. Review those notices before providing information. Corporate Lingua Academy does not control how an independent third party uses information outside our instructions and relationship with that provider.

Changes and contact

We may update this Policy when our services, providers, technology, or legal requirements change. The revised date will appear above, and material changes may be communicated by additional notice where required.

Questions, privacy requests, and parent or guardian requests concerning a minor learner should be sent to sales@corporatelinguaacademy.com. Please use “Privacy Request” in the subject line and identify the nature of the request without emailing sensitive identity documents unless we ask for them through an appropriate method.
